ROBERT HUFFSTUTTER says:
Without any knowledge about this vessel, it first reminded me of scenes from my imagination, images of youthful wishes to traverse the seas of this world in a casual manner, going from port to port, celebrating the joys of each port, then returning to sail again. Oh, I had visions of being on such vessels and becoming a master seaman with many tales to tell. This is one reason I admire this particular work of art you have created. One can almost smell the diesel fuel and hear the engines turning the props, creating a wake that follows for awhile then disappears.
The reflections of your tri-colors is subtly seen at the bow, a touch of sheer artistry.

This would be a dream come true, to sail throughout the Orient in this tramp steamer, visiting ports, meeting people, shooting photographs and sketching harbors, docks and quays. It would be like a trip back into time. Great photograph. It certainly inspired my imagination and I added it to several galleries, one or two where humor is the order of the day. I hope you find it okay. Thanks, Robert

THIS IS A MASTERPIECE: THE COMPOSITION is beyond definitiion--it is great. The colors, vibrant and full. And there's a story, several in fact. One is the nostalgia. I miss he old days of sailing vessels; I miss the graceful lines of the China Clipper, but progress must take precedence.
History is something to savor and read about; reality is what we must live with today in order to succeed and keep commerce in motion. It is one super photograph that illustrates all of what I have written, plus much more.
Congratulations to the photographer, Konabish.

ROBERT HUFFSTUTTER says:
When I was young and the world was much larger, I wanted to go to sea on a tramp steamer to write a novel about all of the ports I would see. Thus, the beginning of my life on my own was all about the ocean.
You were on the spot to capture some of the intense transition that took place in just a few short years. For years, the city was the same, then in the decade of the 70s, things changed in a big way.
This would make a great cover for a novel.
