ROBERT HUFFSTUTTER says:
I knew the lady and her husband who owned this drive in. They had one on Antioch Road and one on Chouteau Trafficway. Lena was the lady's name. She was a lady with a golden heart as was her husband. They made a special chili cheese burger that was out of this world. I think they have closed by now, but their heyday was i the late 60s through the 70s.
Great old sign hat brigs back lots of good memories for me. Robert

When I look at this beautiful photo of a mural I have yet to see in person, one taken by MUPPSTER, I am reminded of my age. There was a time when I actually saw each of these trains while growing up in Kansas City back in the 1950s when these trains were running fast and free. Those were the days, great day.
Who is the artist, the painter of these beauties?
ROBERT HUFFSTUTTER says:
My wife and I frequented the original Blue Room back in 1958 and 1959. We were only 16 and 17 and had a great time. We remember the whole scene. I did some watercolors at the time and they were put on the school bulletin board, Van Horn High, by Mrs. Jenkins.
We don't recall what the sign looked like at the time, we were just anxious to get in without lingering about. We were underage and the only White folks in the club. Is this the original sign?
