MANHATTAN BEACH, CALIFORNIA 1960
Watercolor with pen and ink by Robert L. Huffstutter. My first time in Manhattan Beach was 1959. From then on, I visited this unique southern California beach town whenever I could. Had I had the wisdom to invest in beachfront property in the early 60s, I would own one of the multi-million dollar properties today. The northern part of this South Bay beach town is very hilly, the subject of this painting. Parking can still be a problem, one reason bicycles are very popular. My last visit to Manhattan Beach was in August 2012. If I had a choice for living anywhere in the USA, it would be Manhattan Beach.
