Words have difficulty expressing how odd much of Iceland is. Take this rainbow. It's not enough for Iceland to present you with a spectacular rainbow, no no... Iceland has to put it in an alien setting against primeval volcanic outcrops, perhaps as though on Saturn or on a moon of Jupiter, embedded in a thick methane fog illuminated by a distant sun.
Only the stunted grasses in the foreground jolt you back to the possibility that maybe, just maybe, you are still back on planet earth.
