Black falls cool-aid

Most of my Southern Iceland shots were taken in a hurry because I was with a group tour except in this place, Skaftafell (Vatnajökull) National park where I spent many hours hiking and exploring.

And Svartifoss, another grand waterfall in South-Iceland, is a famous 12 meters high, with black columnar basalt formations which beautifully frame the waterfall and give it its name, Black falls.

Since there are many shots in this location have been surfaced on the Internet, I was looking for a way to create my own version. I decided to get a close-up of the column details and tried to create this scene as a whole, not just about the waterfalls. I have a hard time picking one from hundreds ranging from various exposure, angle and distance. At the end, this shot with f/8 and 13 seconds exposures makes the cut. The white foam splashing in four different directions, likes it is putting out a fire looks very smooth and convincing for me.
