Havasu Falls

Havasu Falls makes a sudden and spectacular appearance after an eight mile hike down a canyon to Supai village and another two moderate miles hike on a dirt trail beyond the village. Amazing how such a scene exists, making it looks like an oasis in the desert. View larger for less sharpening artifacts.

 

As can be seen from the lighting condition, this photo was quite difficult to capture. I used GND filters to control the sky but the effects caused by the filters made me think that it may have been better if I had bracketed my shots instead. A whole lot of time was spent processing this shot; with my limited editing knowledge, I'll have to be happy with it for now.
