Happy Mother's Day
I wish my mom a very Happy Mother's Day today. She really is one of the most amazing people I know, a true bad ass. She was awarded a Cal Grant and attended Otis Parsons Art Institute in L.A. She scrimped, saved and bought a house when others told her she couldn't. She obtained her bachelors degree from CSLB as an older student. She is passionate about EVERYTHING, as a person, artist, and political advocate. But what I love most about her is that she really LIVES. As a kid, I remember she wanted to be standing next to the train to feel it's roar and thunder (visiting Enid's). She took me on walks in thunder and lightning storms (when we lived on Broadway - I still remember seeing lightning hit the the ground a few blocks away). She always went IN the water (Three Rivers or beach), experiencing the current, cold, waves. She played beach volleyball on the peninsula when I was in high school. I treasure those experiences, being a part of it or just as bystander. I am so grateful for my mom. ❤️
