me with a pearl earring

So many different people over the years (some I didn't even know) have remarked on how Vermeer's "Girl With a Pearl Earring" could have been a painting of me (or my twin sister). I'm (ahem) a wee bit older than the subject of the painting at this point in my life (though I haven't always been!), but I thought it would be fun to try to duplicate it for this assignment. I'm not sure that I believe in past lives, but if I did, this was one of mine.
