Frail Fern Fenceline.
Another from my ramble around Oxen Fell. Not the best conditions for photography, but if you look hard enough there is usually something that captures your eye.
This fence line leading off down the fell had the recognisable Langdale Pikes as a back drop. It also showed something of the seasons this year. The Ferns were generally verdant and lush, but just here and there, were a few parched rusty coloured fronds.
The seasons will be changing in the next month or so with the heather sparking into bloom and the ferns will start to turn into their autumnal browns.
