Cote Gill flow.

After all the summer rain, I thought there would be a reasonable chance of some water flowing over these falls in Cote Gill. They are not shown on any Ordnance Survey Maps and spend most of the year dry, as the surface water flows beneath the limestone bedrock emerging below this face into the bed of Cote Gill as it flows down from the moors to join the River Skirfare in Littondale, near Arncliffe Cote.

Anyway, as I made my way up the track from Arncliffe Cote, I could see that there was a good flow of water in the beck. As I neared High Cote Moor I could hear that there was water cascading over this falls. So I made my way over from the bridleway to the gorge and dropped down to take this shot. It is a beautifully concealed falls and I was glad I made my speculative trip up here. I had been here before during a rainy winter, but the flow was probably better here this time, after the monsoon of a summer we have had this year.
