Losing limestone's left leaning life!

This hardy Hawthorn is gradually succumbing to the prevailing elements, high on the exposed Twisleton escarpment.

I took a photo of it a couple of years ago before it lost the main upper branch in the storms. Like many of the trees in the Yorkshire Dales it seems to be on the inevitable decline, sadly.

This was taken during the brief return to winter last week, with the drifts of snow making life pretty difficult up here. You can see Ingleborough framed by the tree in its white winter coat!
