The 2009 movie "Fast & Furious" (top) used a dry lake in the Lucerne Valley for the scenes involving the evening drug run from Mexico (top) as well as the chase scene involving the kidnapping of Braga to bring him back to the states.
This is the Soggy Dry Lake which is about 2 hrs NE of Los Angeles.
