Flat or three-dimensional? No, that's not the question. Even subconsciously, we notice gradual changes in light and form. Yet, a uniform structure dictates the whole surface.

 

This wall covering in the Oslo Opera House must be an excellent 'sound diverter'. It covers the area where many people gather during breaks in a performance — the public toilets. During a small time slot, they can relieve themselves not only of bodily fluids. Happy to speak up for a short time, most people become noisy.
