Family : Pycnonotidae (鹎科). Length: 19-21cm.
白喉紅臀鵯的前額、頭頂、枕黑色而富有光澤，眼先、眼周、嘴基亦為黑色，耳羽
銀灰色或灰白色，有的沾灰褐或棕褐色。背、肩褐色或灰褐色、具寬的灰色或灰白色羽緣，腰灰褐色。尾上覆羽灰白色，尾羽黑褐色，先端白色，中央尾羽微具白端。兩翅暗褐色，除外側飛羽外，其餘飛羽外翈具淺灰色羽緣。下體頦及上喉黑色，下喉白色，其餘下體污白色或灰白色，有的微沾灰色。尾下覆羽血紅色。虹膜棕色、褐色或暗褐色，嘴、腳黑色。
分佈於中南半島和中國的東南沿海地區，包括緬甸、越南、老撾、柬埔寨、泰國以及中國的東南沿海地區、香港、海南島。
