Mini Chandratal

A few smaller lakes, not known to many, dots Chandratal region. We climb a small hill to discover one. The Chandra river flows in the background.

 

Contrary to common belief, Chandrataal is not the source of river Chandra. It originates from Suraj Taal on the southeast slope of the Baralacha La, flows close to Chandrataal and meets the Bhaga River at Tandi to foem Chandrabhaaga or Chenab.
