Exploratorium - April 2006
The Exploratorium, the hands-on science museum, we came to find out was the site of San Francisco’s “coming out party” (no pun intended) after the great quake of 1906. This was the site of a world’s fair, or something of the sort, and the rotunda and pillars were built to emulate ancient sites in Greece. The museum itself was neat inside, but not much photo-worthy, although I did forget to take a picture of the world’s fair painting that showed the entire grounds (all of the buildings except for the Exploratorium have since been destroyed). At any rate, I am just posting these two shots so to detail the architecture.
