Lake Phoenix is an artificial lake on the former Phoenix-Ost steel mill site in Dortmund's Hörde district. It was and is being discussed as a beacon project which is intended to serve as an example of how to initiate a structural change in the city of Dortmund.
Together with the surrounding area, Lake Phoenix forms a residential and recreational area with restaurants and commercial buildings.
