Koe Galerie Mall

"The Kö-Galerie is based on the 19th century Italian 'commerciali' gallery, such as the Galleria Umberto I, in postmodern architecture. Four two-storey shopping streets, named after the celestial directions, run towards a 25 m high, glass-roofed domed hall. The main portal on Königsallee is designed as an arcade. One of the segmental arches of the arcade, which is located above the main axis of the adjacent shopping arcade, has a two-storey design. Above this arch is a glazier with a glass dome, which breaks through the cornice like a tower into the attic. The Kö-Galerie has a total of 20,000 m² of retail space and 30,000 m² of office space. The gallery was opened on 21 September 1986. The owner and architect was Walter Brune. In 2006, Brune's Kö-Galerie was sold to a joint venture led by Merrill Lynch. ECE had a smaller stake in the joint venture. At the end of November 2008, the center management company Gustav announced its intention to completely renovate and restructure the shopping center from 2009 onwards without interrupting operations.

The project for around EUR 40 million was largely completed in autumn 2011. At the end of 2012, the Kö-Galerie was linked to the neighboring shopping centre Sevens Center by integrating the neighbouring house Steinstraße 11. In 2014, a sale was made to Allianz Real Estate for around € 300 million, while ECE Projektmanagement took over the management of the center."
