Abiqua falls

After seeing some pretty amazing pictures of this waterfall on Flickr I had to check it out. (couldn't wait for overcast weather) I got there about 8:30 am and only had a few hours before the sunlight filled the place. There were a couple tents parked at the base of the falls when I arrived. I took a couple pictures of the guys and told them if they found me on Flickr I'd post the shots of them. So if you're reading this..

 

Also, if you've never been to this waterfall there's really not much of a trail. It's more of a game trail, a mountain goat game trail that disappears and reappears occasionally. I only got directions to the locked gate. If that's where your directions end too don't do what I did and continue walking down the trail away away from the falls. Park at the gate and within a few car lengths before the gate, there's a partially recognizeable trail that heads downhill to a fairly open area then a steep hike down to the creek. It's pretty steep too, like hiking down from Fairy falls without a trail. Then just follow the creek upriver a couple hundred yards.
