St. John's at night
I had to see what this bridge looked like at night from the ridge trail. I thought it was interesting how the long exposure could reveal an illuminated bridge that's dark otherwise. ( except for the roadway ). I don't like the tiny orbs of light in the air. I think it might be lens flare from the lamps, I'm not sure.
I learned something last night about white balance also. The earlier pictures that night were shot with the tungsten setting to avoid the harsh orange color from the daylight setting you see in alot of night skyline shots. You still get some of that dark color with sodium lights though. So I set the white balance to daylight and turned the color temperature down as far as I could. I think it was 2800 or 3000. This seemed to give a more natural blue to the sky and kept the sodium yellow, not orange.
