Eriophorum angustifolium + Sphagnum + Pinus sylvestris (48°50' N 15°08' E)
2010.07.11 NÖ, Heidenreichstein (598 msm Quadrant 7156/4).
A series of shots which shows the slow progression from raised bog to reed zone to the pond: this one here shows still, more or less, a raised bog: the brownish Sphagnum cover still is clearly visible, same goes for the white balls of Eriophorum seeds; and grounds are still firm enough for Pinus to grow.
German names: Schmallblatt-Wollgras, Torfmoos, Rot-Föhre
