Castle Lodge, Estate Gorp and Roovert, Hilvarenbeek, Noord- Brabant, Netherlands - 4425

During our bike ride from Baarle Nassau to Tilburg and back we cycle through the beautiful landscape of estate Gorp and Rovert at Hilverbeek in the Netherlands and in the forest is suddenly this Castle (Dutch: Kasteel, Jachthuis).

In 1868, the estate owned by the family Zerezo the Tejade, a noble family of Spanish origin.

In this territory had baron Eugene François Joseph de Tejada Zerezo a hunting lodge built around 1870. By the two towers was this house popularly known as 'the castle on Gorp' named.

In front of the castle is a statue of Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt.
