Veronica Bowd. 'Crinkle Crags from Red Tarn'. 2015. Watercolour.
This scene is of The Crinkles in The Lake District, or Crinkle Crags as some people call them. Interestingly, Red Tarn is often missed by many walkers ascending from Oxendale and only viewed from above as they slog their way up onto The Crinkles. The name Red Tarn probably comes from the outcropping haematite ore found here.
This painting was shown in the Kendal Art Society exhibition 2015. Unfortunately not the best of photographs on my behalf.
Measures 36 x 29cms.
