Juno in the Großer Garten at Herrenhausen

The sculpture of the goddess Juno with a peacock represents the element air. The Herrenhausen Gardens (Herrenhäuser Gärten) in Hannover are four gardens that surrounded a summer residence of the kings of Hannover. Schloss Herrenhausen was destroyed in 1943 (and rebuilt modern in 2013) but the magnificent formal Great Garden (Großer Garten) survived as a baroque court garden from the late 17th century to the present. It is open daily with the original open-air theater still often in use.
