Dill Sandwich Slices from the Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving. 8 pints.

 

I love pickles. Pickles every day in every way. Pickles with cheese, pickles on sandwiches and burgers, pickles all over the place. Pickles are the first thing I open when we get home from the store. Pickle choices are limited when you don't eat HFCS. My choices will not be when I'm done pickling!

 

So far, I've made dilly beans and these pickles. Coming up, bread and butter, something with summer squash, and I'd love to make cornichons.

 

Chubby Kirby cucumbers are from my favorite very jovial woman at the farmer's market.

 

Used dill seed instead of weed and white instead of cider vinegar because another trip to the store would have done me in. These might be spicy as the pickling spice I got at the co-op has big dried peppers in it. Used a combo of yellow and brown mustard seeds.

 

I don't like the new "platinum" Ball lids. I woke up to rust spots on the top of two of them.
