Heart of glass
It may not look like it, but this is a lampwork glass bead. I couldn't begin to explain how the surface texture was created, but I'm told it had something to do with copper and raku frit. Is anyone any the wiser? I just call it magic. :)
Next to it is a Japanese apricot flower from my garden, which is so cheerful and so welcome at this time of year. The base is hand torn fabric ribbon.
