It makes no sense

The weather was horrible the day after Christmas - cold and foggy - so I amused myself by picking up my camera. The buttons are faux guilloché enamel, but I thought they were pretty. They were made in the 1930s. The pocket-watch-shaped trinket box is from the 1950s, the postcards from the 1910s and the piece of linen underneath everything is present day. Nope, as hard as I try I can't make any connection between them. They just ended up together in front of me - briefly - on a dark December day. :)
