It says 'Sent in all sincerity' on the postcard, in case you're wondering. How very formal. :)

 

The postcards date from the 1910s - 20s; the little pot with a micro mosaic lid from around 1910 and the button from the 1880s. The common name for the tiny flower on the pot is The Scarlet Pimpernel despite the fact it's actually orange. I just looked it up and discovered that the colour 'orange' refers to the fruit and therefore wasn't known in the UK until the 16th century. That's why this flower is called scarlet. You live and learn!
