Love is like a butterfly

Many of you will rightly associate these words with Dolly Parton, who wrote the song, but anyone of my age in the UK will probably be thinking fondly of a 1970s sitcom by Carla Lane, called Butterflies. The theme tune was sung by Clare Torry, who also - incredibly - was the voice on Pink Floyd's 'The Great Gig in the Sky' from the Dark Side of the Moon album. The contrast between the two styles is stunning.

Anyway, for what it's worth, this is my 'alternative' Valentine. Not a heart or a red rose in sight, you'll notice. Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. :)

For those who're interested in scale, the amethyst butterfly is just a fraction over ¼" wide.
