Lulu - a tribute
I can't believe that I'm having to write this - I'm still in shock - but my beautiful, irreplaceable Lulu was put to sleep late yesterday morning.
She was apparently happy and well right up until Saturday so, as you can imagine, the speed of her decline was frightening. She had three large, inoperable tumours in her abdomen. The vet told me the situation was "hopeless", although I didn't need to be told.
Lulu was very special. From the moment I met her at the rescue centre and she turned those mesmerising green eyes in my direction to look at me, I was lost. I can't believe that I only knew her for a year and a week because in that short space of time she turned my life upside down. I'm devastated to have lost her so soon.
I want to thank everyone who has followed Lulu's story and left so many lovely comments on her photos. It's been a wonderful experience having Lulu embraced by the friendly Flickr community.
