Ethel

Ethel is a European Eagle Owl, the largest species of owl in the world. Watching her fly this afternoon at the British Wildlife Centre was very impressive with her huge wing span. Eagle Owls haven't been seen in Britain since the 18th century, which is sad. Their piercing amber eyes stop you dead in your tracks! The owl display is right at the end of the afternoon, and takes place in quite a dark area under trees, so I was happy to get this on ISO3200.
