the teleidoscope 2012 theme #17 - mythology

 

all mythologies have the monster, the hero, the secret weapon/sword, secret knowledge transmitted through an old master or a scroll, and it all boils down to the hero facing himself and his fears in order to succeed in his challenges. i always loved those concepts and i believe that a big part of our life is spent conquering our fears, facing those inner monsters.

remember how it was scary asking a girl out for the first time? your first driving lesson? your first failed test in college? realizing your account is at zero? getting unemployed? all those things have the common monster of failure and doom attacking your thoughts and mind, and it's until you face it and take the next step and move on that the monster is defeated. true that some of those things are not entirely on you, but if you don't care about others opinion and try and try.. eventually you succeed.
