Green-Backed Trogon Male
The green-backed trogon (Trogon viridis), also known as the Amazonian white-tailed trogon is from the tropical humid forests in South America. The male's head and upper breast are dark blue (appears blackish in poor light), and the back is green. The lower underparts are orange yellow. This male trogon is one of the stars of the San Diego Zoo's new Hummingbird Habitat that features birds of Central and South America.
