Daydreaming
11 month old male koala joey (Phascolarctos cinereus) named "Omeo" was orphaned at ~5 months old when his mother died of lymphoma. He was then too young to live out of the pouch, so animal care specialists at the San Diego Zoo took over his care. Between meals ( 6 per day) he lived in a faux pouch inside an incubator until he grew strong enough to be out on his own. At 11 months of age, Omeo is still too young and small to be out of exhibit, but he is getting outside exercise under the watchful eye of one of his care givers. Conservation status: vulnerable
