OK Jet! CSA Tupolev Tu-134A OK-EFJ seen about to roll on runway 27R at London Heathrow

Soviet aviation memories from a collection of some 80 slides of Soviet-built aircraft that I've had scanned from my archives. Hope they will provide some enjoyment and nostalgia from a bygone age.

Seen just after landing on runway 28L is OK-HFL - one of the regular fleet of Tupolev Tu-134As that CSA Czechoslovak Airlines used on OK-754/5 from Prague into Heathrow. The aircraft was only two years old when I took this shot. In the background, United Arab Emirates VIP Boeing 707-3L6B A6-HPZ. Typical Zenith 'lighting effects' in the shot - my earliest Zenit E was particularly prone to these 😅

Something of a BA Fest in the background, with two Tridents, two TriStars and two 747s!

OK-EFJ c/n 223128 Tupolev TU-134A was delivered new to ČSA Československé Aerolinie in 1974 and flew with the airline until 1st Jan 1993 when Czechoslovakia peacefully split into the the two sovereign states of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The aircraft transferred to CSA Czech Airlines and continued to fly with the airline until the mid 1990s when it was retired. After the aircraft was broken up, the cockpit was put on display at etecke Muzeum Kbely, Prague.

OK-IFN 1978-1997 (Sold to ORBI Georgian Airlines as 4L-AAE)

Taken with a Soviet made Zenith TTL camera and 300mm lens. From an original slide, scanned and unrestored.

According to my trusty log book, this is Frame 32 of the very first film I shot with my new Zenith TTL! Still the Zenith "lighting effects" in this shot, which particularly affected my first Zenith SLR camera - a basic Model E - but also affected my EM and TTL cameras.
