TS-JHV Tunis Air Boeing 727 landing runway 09L at London Heathrow

Heathrow weather Tunis Air Boeing 727-2H3 TS-JHV seen here in atrocious weather about to land on runway 09L at London Heathrow. My late-lamented dear friend Llew Griffith was on board, which was the reason that I made the effort to go back to Heathrow and get drenched for a second time to record his arrival back in the UK 😃

Note the Arabic titles on the third engine, with titles in English on the fuselage - these were reversed on the other side [see comments section below].

Llew sadly died Oct 2023 aged just 61 - I've compiled this album In Memorium on my Flickr Railway site, as we did a lot of railways together 😎 www.flickr.com/photos/themightyhood/albums/72177720312617...

TS-JHV c/n 21319 Boeing 727-2H3 was delivered new to Tunis Air in May 1977, and flew with the airline for its entire life, only coming to grief in a ground accident on 11th Feb 1992. The aircraft ran into a hangar during engine tests at Tunis airport. It was noted at Tunis in Nov 1994, with engines and other parts missing. Noted preserved at Parc de Mourouj 2, Tunis, Tunisia 11th Sep 2004. Damaged by fire in 2017.

Taken with a Soviet made Zenith TTL camera and 300mm lens, using Kodacolor GA100 print film. Scanned from the original negative without restoration.
