XSF-32b Foxfire
Project Foxfire was an extremely ambitious joint venture between the Auroran Royal Design Institute and the Office of Unspecified Operations. The goal of Project Foxfire was to design a robust, versatile joint strike fighter with stealth capability, to be flown by Unspecified Operations pilots.
Project Foxfire was deemed too expensive to produce, however, with each craft costing nearly as much as a single light cruiser, the project was cancelled, and the two prototypes were ordered to be scrapped. While the exact specifications of the Alexander Device, the stealth system used in the Foxfire craft, are still classified, it appears to function by somehow storing all the vessel's emissions for a prolonged period of time, rendering it nearly invisible to long-range sensors. The Alexander Device was also used in later Auroran stealth reconnaissance spacecraft.
Although the prototypes were ordered scrapped, Foxfire's story hardly ends there. The weaponized Combat Evaluation protoype, Foxfire B, survived, and somehow found the way into the hands of Valerian Hawke, the son of Lord Ethan Hawke of Whitebay. Valerian was a privateer and a wanderer, and he took advantage of Foxfire's unique capability to deliver justice and keep the frontier safe.
