Moss Landing area, Monterey Bay, CA
A fantastic day on the bay, with a large number of orcas, facing off with a smaller group of humpbacks. Humpbacks trumpeted and charged orcas, and orcas charged humpbacks. Orcas swam in synchrony, possibly parading after a kill, with lots of tail slapping and a few glorious breaches.
Something was eaten, because some interesting birds flew in to check out the smell, including a Fork-tailed Storm-petrel!
