Food Processing
Farmers put in their sweat and blood for months to produce food. But a lot of it gets wasted due to poor storage facilities. The Mega Food Parks project in which we plan to operationalize 42 food parks will provide a modern infrastructure for arresting post-harvest losses of horticultural and non-horticultural produce and provide impetus to the growth of food processing sector in the country. This project will help in providing better prices to farmers, reduce wastage of perishables, add value to agricultural produce and create huge opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment for the youth. We reviewed the food parks project and are satisfied with its progress.
