Peregrine falcon - The fastest lady on the planet
You are looking at a miracle of evolution., this is the worlds fastest bird.,, and this is a young but fully grown female which is bigger and more powerful than her male counterparts (natures way of preventing predication) meaning she is the ultimate falcon.
I don't usually get into any photographic technical., but this was an interesting one. The weather was poor (you can see the raindrops) and she landed in a nearby tree. To get a closer picture I decided to put on the x1.4 converter and I took some reasonable shots. I knew she would eventually fly off., but expected it would be sideways or backwards because that is what they always do.,right? wrong!
Suddenly the fastest bird in the world is flying straight for me., and I have an overpowered prime lens in low light.
Put the shutter speed up and the ISO goes through the ceiling! Plus the tracking on a quickly closing object simply wasn't going to work
My only option was to risk as low a shutter as I dare., (800) and attempt to spot focus her when she got close enough... click!
It's for others to decide on the quality of the photograph., I can only look in awe at the fastest lady on the planet
