A Typical Amateur Subject - Lansdowne X2888e

When I read the history of photographic art and study the works of great masters, I notice that there are certain specific types of themes or subjects that are selected by the artists.

For example, American landscape by Ansel Adams. Portraits of people in social margins by Diane Arbus. Street photography by Cartier-Bresson. Still life and nudes by Edward Weston. Cityscape by Eugene Agtet. Flower photography by Blossfeldt. Self portrait by Cindy Sherman.

Surprisingly I did not find any bird photography adopted by artists in history book. Bird photography is followed by millions of amateur photographers but there is not even one masterpiece recorded in the history of photography art or one artist specialized on this?

Shadows are another typical amateur subject. May be the artists, the historians or art curators think that these subjects cannot have high philosophical meanings or artistic style? :o)

This was taken at Lansdowne Shopping Mall Richmond.

Have a great Sunday!
