The Kaskaskia Regional Port District Railroad (reporting marks: KRRC/KKRX/KRPD) is a shortline railroad offering service to its namesake port along the Kaskaskia River in southwest Illinois.
Currently, it provides a connection for limestone to be moved from barges at Dock no. 1 near New Athens, Illinois to CN. It also provides switching for Dock no. 2, a small metal works facility at Baldwin, Illinois. Additionally, it is the contract switcher for Midwest Transload at Percy, Illinois. Back in 1979, it also hauled coal from Peabody's mines.
KRRC runs its limestone train in the mid to late mornings Mon-Fri to the CN interchange and back. They meet CN L54491 at Lenzburg.
KRRC interchanges with CN at Lenzburg, Baldwin, and Percy.
