This is Coppin St in Richmond. It has established trees down the middle. This photo was taken during a quiet period of the day, but the need to ride well away from the door zone is clear. What happens when a motor vehicle wants to pass? What happens when it is peak-period? I saw a young school boy ride along here during peak hour once, and my heart was in my throat. Not only was he less visible to potential 'doorers' (being shorter) a stream of bumper-to-bumper multi-ton vehicles was passing centimeters to his right. This is a bad situation for cyclists, and prevents the uptake of cycling.
