Rave Rave Ravensbourne
To me this building is just wonderfully clad in a repeating pattern of tiles created by a mathematician Michael Hirschorn and developed by Foreign Office Architects. There 28K tiles yet the pattern is such that not one tile has to be cut! On the Greenwich Peninsula next to the O2 Arena, it is the home of Ravensbourne, a school of design and communications. The inside is just as interesting, apparently, spacious and full of innovation. The college has vocationally focused courses for the students; all the staff are professionals in their field who teach part time at the college. All resources are shared, no one has their own desk or space, open plan everywhere.
This whole area abounds with such buildings, I had no idea, just stumbled across it on the way to the tennis, well worth a camera trip sometime. This week I didn't have time to linger.
