Tailend of the Sunrise
.......over Baslow, with hints of autumn browns.
Hubbie looks here like he's struggling but actually doing much better. Yesterday we went for a gently walk along the River Derwent to test out his back so today we decided to try White Edge near Baslow cos I thought it might be easier underfoot and indeed it was, few rocks and stones, mostly a soft grassy path which doesn't jolt the joints. White Edge is a ridge parallel to Curbar Edge on the west side of Big Moor, the habitat for lots of wildlife.
We left early hoping to see Red Deer getting ready for the rutting season and weren't disappointed. We heard far more than we saw cos the mist was really thick as we climbed higher but I managed to get a few shots, albeit very misty ones. Some stags were really close, maybe not so afraid in the mist and still out in the open because we were amongst the first people around that day.
