The former Martintown Mill (1846) in Martintown, Ontario

The former Martintown Mill (1846) in Martintown, Ontario, Canada.

It was built by Alexander McMartin using locally sourced fieldstones and operated as a flour mill, originally powered by the Raison River and eventually complimented by the use a gasoline engine. Depending on sources of information available, it either ceased its operations in 1947 or 1951.

Alexander McMartin's father, Malcolm McMartin, a native of Perthshire, Scotland and a New York Loyalist, built wooden grist, saw and carding mills at this very location between 1801 and 1803.

The Raison River at this location, is renowned as a walleye spawning spot.
