Located on the grounds and hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 544 Lancaster, this place of remembrance is dedicated to Lancaster native, Sgt. Marc. D. Léger, who was unintentionally killed in Kandahar, Afghanistan on April 17, 2002, when a U.S. plane dropped an unauthorized laser-guided bomb on the 3rd Battalion of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. The infantry was participating in a training exercise which involved firing anti-tank and machine-gun rounds.
May he forever rest in blessed peace.
