The world keeps turning

The world keeps turning – Whenever I look up at the sky at night, I see all the stars and I am reminded how small a part of everything I am. No matter what is going on in my life, no matter how big/small good/bad or how busy I am the world will keep turning. These thoughts keep me humble.

The technical – This is a 1 hour exposure shot on a Nikon D810 at f/2.8, ISO200. I choose to keep the ISO low to keep the image clean from noise and to keep the image darker. With the sky being so dark at Lake Alamo the stars are bright and show up well by simple using a wide aperture. I wanted the longer exposure for longer star trails, but it had the downside of capturing too much movement in the water, so the reflections didn’t show in this image. When I did a 30-minute exposure the star trails reflected in the water which I also like. Post color correction, exposure, contrast and sharpening was completed in Lightroom.
