Silves cathedral
This cathedral is located in the city of Silves, in Portugal's Algarve region. A mosque, built during the Moorish rule of the Iberian Peninsula, was originally located here. It was mostly restructured and converted into a Catholic cathedral after 1242, when Christian knights reconquered the region. Built and renovated over the centuries, the cathedral has some Baroque characteristics, but is mostly Gothic in nature.
