This is of course the famous pyramid of the Musée du Louvre (Paris), built in 1988 in the main court. The view is pretty well known!
In order to avoid people on the image, I went there on a week day, around midnight, so that the place was mostly empty. Since the photo is a 64 seconds exposure, people just walking through were not a worry (they were merely visible at all on the photo), but I even managed to get a clear shot without anyone at all (probably due to the fact it was a bit cold that night). I used my tilt-shift lens to keep lines parallel, so that the symmetry would be even more obvious.
